Data is a sensitive thing, and that’s why it's so important for you to know that we don't upload or store anything without your permission.
We only store trip content that you have actively uploaded it to the app.
When you see suggested steps or photos pop up, these are not uploaded to our servers until you explicitly confirm that you want to upload them.
Let’s take a look at these different scenarios in a little more detail.
Offline steps and offline draft steps
Offline steps and offline draft steps are only saved locally on your mobile device. This means that if you log out of the app, you will lose your offline (draft) steps. When you add offline steps to the app, these are automatically uploaded to our servers when the app receives a strong mobile data or Wi-Fi connection.
Published steps and draft steps
When you publish your step or save your step as a draft step and are connected to the internet, the app will start to synchronise your information to our servers. Here, we safely store your data. Make sure to wait until the app says that the synchronisation is completed, so that the contents of your steps are saved successfully.
Note: We advise you to regularly publish your steps and synchronise your app to minimise the chances of data loss.
How can I perform a synchronization?
The app should synchronise new data automatically when you make changes in the app.
However, you can also trigger the synchronisation manually. Simply go into your settings in the app and press the 'Sync now' button. The app will start to synchronise — you’ll know it’s complete when you see a green bar pop up that says 'Synchronisation successful'.

What if the synchronization does not complete?
If the synchronization doesn’t complete, your device may have an unstable WiFi or mobile data connection.
Please try again once you have a stronger connection. If the issue persists, please see here: App not working as expected? Try these steps
