You can save your flight details directly inside your planned trip on Polarsteps, so everything you need is together in one place; your route, your steps, and the flights connecting them.
When you add a flight, we save the key details (departure and arrival airports, dates and times in their correct time zones, terminal, seat number if you've got one, booking status, and any notes you want to add) so you can pull them up quickly while planning or on the go.
How to add a flight
To add a flight to your trip, simply:
- Open the planned or ongoing trip you want to add a flight to.
- Go to the Plan tab, tap the plus (+) button, and choose 'Add a flight'.
- Look up your flight by airline and flight number, plus the date.
- Add your details.
- Save your flight.
You will be able to find your flight later by tapping the transport chip in your planned trip overview, or by tapping the flight path on the map.
If a flight overlaps with a planned step, you'll see a warning in the timeline, flight list, and flight details. Review your planned steps and adjust if needed. If a flight falls outside your trip's start or end date, the app will ask you to extend the trip so the flight is included.
You can open your flights from the planned trip overview or by tapping on the flight path on the map in the plan tab.
Good to know
- We don't receive live flight updates, so if your flight is delayed, cancelled, or rescheduled by the airline, Polarsteps won't reflect that automatically.
- Core flight details (dates, times, airports) can't be edited after saving. If something needs to change, please delete the flight and add it again.
- Polarsteps is for saving flight information, not booking flights, so you can't book through the app, look up flights by airport, or attach boarding passes.
- This feature is currently available on iOS and Android only. Flights aren't supported on the website yet.
Can't find your flight?
If you can't find your flight when searching, double-check the airline and flight number and try again. Small typos in the airline code are the most common reason flights don't show up.
It's not possible to add flights in the past or flight more than a year away from today.
