The Explore tab is the new go-to place for trip inspiration! Whether you're daydreaming about your next adventure or actively planning a trip, the Explore tab helps you browse amazing travel content such as destination guides and trips created by other Polarsteps users.
How to use the Explore tab
- Open the Polarsteps app on your phone
- Tap the Explore tab in the navigation bar
- Browse through the categories or zoom in on the globe to find destinations you wish to explore
- Tap on a country or destination to learn more.
What can I find in the Explore tab?
The Explore tab is packed with curated travel content to spark your wanderlust. You will find country guides and destination guides with background, activities, hidden gems, and travel tips — all designed to help you plan a trip you'll never forget.
Search countries and destination guides by category
The content categories are updated regularly and include:
- For you — A personalized mix of destinations
- Visited by friends — Places visited by the people you follow
- Under the radar — Countries that are less-visited
- Because you visited — Suggestions based on a country you've visited before
- Trending this month — Destinations that have been popular lately
- Browse by continent — An overview of all country guides sorted by continent
Destinations visited by your friends
If someone you follow on Polarsteps has previously visited a location and added a step here, then we will show their step in the destination guide. You can view the step by tapping on it. You can also open their full trip to see where else they visited.
Adding destinations to your planned trip
When browsing through the places in the explore tab, you can choose to add these as planned steps to one of your upcoming or current trips.
- Countries: You can start creating a new planned trip when you select a country in the explore tab. Simply tap '+ Create a new trip'. For more info, see: How do I create a trip?
- Destinations: You can open a place from the explore tab and add it directly to a future trip or current trip. Simply tap '+ Add to plan' and select the trip you wish to add it to. You can also choose to create a new planned trip. The destination will be added as a planned step. For more info, see: How do I plan my trip?
Good to know
You can browse inspirational content at any time, even before you have added any upcoming trips.
The Explore tab is currently available on our iOS and Android mobile apps.
