The 'Travel stats' in your Polarsteps profile are automatically updated based on your trips and the steps you add to them. However, if you want to add countries for which you don't have a tracked trip in Polarsteps, you can also add visited countries directly to your statistics. Here's how to to do this with our scratch map feature:
- Open the Polarsteps app
- On your profile page, open your 'Travel stats'
- Tap the 'Add countries' button
- Search for the country or countries you wish to add and tap the + button
It is not possible to remove countries you have added through your trips using the scratch map. To remove those, you will have to edit or remove the steps you placed in this country.
Locations you have recorded in your trips don't automatically add the country to the number of visited countries. This only happens when you add a step. Read more about adding steps here: What are steps and how do I add or edit them?
Countries added through the scratch map feature are only visible to a you and your followers, not publicly. For more information about who can see your trips, you can read this article: Who can see my Polarsteps account and trips?
If you are signed in to your Polarsteps account on multiple devices (we usually don't recommend this), you will have to add the countries manually on the other device as as well, or log out and back in. Please be careful with this as you lose any unsynchronized information when you sign out. For more info, see: Can I use the app on multiple devices?
