How to move photos between steps

It's not yet possible to drag photos from one step to another step in our Travel Book Editor. 

If you would like to move photos between steps, you can do so in two different ways, depending on your preference. You can make the changes in your trip in the app, or you can make them directly in the Travel Book Editor.

  • If you exclude photos or add new photos in the Travel Book Editor, this will not affect the trip. 
  • If you remove photos, or add new photos in the trip in the app, this will affect the Travel Book as well.

 

If you want to make these changes only in your Travel Book: 

In the Travel Book Editor, excluding photos from a step:

  • Tap on the image you would like to exclude from the step and turn off the 'Include in book' toggle.
    This will remove the image from the step in your book, it will not remove the image from the trip itself.

Now add the photo in the other step:

  • Tap on the “Add photos” button next to your step title
  • Import the photos from your gallery (supported formats: .jpg, .jpeg, .png)
  • The newly added photos will appear at the end of the step. You can rearrange the photos to create the perfect layout.

Be sure to press the 'Save and Preview button' to save any changes you've made to your Travel Book layout.

* If your Travel Book exceeds 398 pages, you will not be able to add any photos directly to the editor. A workaround is to temporarily deselect steps until your page count is below 398, and the 'add photo' button will become visible. You can see this article on how to deselect steps.

 

If you want to make changes to your trip and your Travel Book:

In the step in the trip (* give the Polarsteps app access to your phone's photo library in your device's settings):

  • Remove the photo from the step, and add them to the other step.
  • Open the Step you want to add photos to
  • Tap the 'Edit Step' button
  • Tap the Camera icon or the 'Add photos and videos' button
  • Select the photo -> Select Photos choose from 'Suggestions', 'Your Library' or 'More'
  • Make sure to publish your changes

The removed photo will be removed from your Step in the Trip and from the Travel Book, and the added photos will be visible in that step in your Travel Book the next time you generate it. Keep in mind that the newly added photos will appear at the end of the step in the Travel Book. In the Travel Book Editor, you can now rearrange the photos.
