You're working on your Travel Book and you might be wondering why you cannot edit the map page at the start of your book. In this article we explain how the map page is generated.
Unfortunately, it's not possible to manually adjust the zoom level or focal point of the map in your Travel Book. The reason for this is that use with the preset zoom levels that are defined by our map-service provider.
The preset zoom level logic tries to only include the core route of your trip. To summarize, we try to exclude the parts of a trip that got you to your destination and back. The logic groups the steps into sets of steps separated by flights. Next, any set of steps of which the first or last step falls within 48 hours of the trip's start or end date is excluded, and the map zooms to fit whatever's left.
The map page does not necessarily show the area of your trip with the most steps, it shows the area that our software thinks is the main part of your trip. Adding or removing steps in a certain area may influence the zoom levels of the map.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to manually edit this photo of the map or to leave out the map entirely.
